Experienced Carpenter — Residential Remodeling
T Brothers Renovations | Buffalo, NY
Full-time, year-round | $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
You know the difference between somebody who can finish a task and somebody who can actually build.
We are looking for an experienced residential carpenter. Somebody who takes pride in the work, solves problems in the field, and can move a job forward without a person standing over their shoulder all day.
We do kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and whole-home renovations across Western New York. The work is detailed and the standard is high, because our clients are usually living in the house while we are working in it. We are not looking for the cheapest carpenter available. We are looking for the right one.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Rough and finish carpentry.
- Interior framing, blocking, and structural modifications.
- Framing walls, creating and modifying door and window openings.
- Installing doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, and built-ins.
- Reading plans and laying out work accurately.
- Spotting a problem on site and solving it, or flagging it the same day.
- Working with your field lead and the other trades.
- Keeping the jobsite clean and professional, because you are in somebody's home.
- Bringing along the less experienced guys when it makes sense.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Strong residential remodeling or carpentry experience.
- Confident in both rough and finish work.
- High standards. The kind where you would put your own name on the trim.
- Works well on your own and works well with a crew.
- Dependable, productive, and lets somebody know when something changes.
- Professional inside a client's home.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Your own basic hand tools. We supply the rest of the tools and equipment.
PAY AND BENEFITS:
- $25.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill.
- If you are further along than that and the work backs it up, apply anyway and tell us what you are looking for. We would rather have the conversation than miss the right person over a number in an ad.
- Full-time, year-round work.
- Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday when a job needs it. We tell you ahead of time.
- You bring your hand tools, we supply the rest of the tools and equipment.
- Six paid holidays after six months.
- Paid vacation after one year, and it grows the longer you are here.
- Paid sick time, per New York State.
- Take on more and your pay moves with it. That is the only way anybody moves up here.
HOW WE WORK:
We are family-run and it actually feels like it. People look out for each other, and nobody here is a number.
We try to keep everybody working inside their own trade. Carpenters stay on carpentry. That is how people get good and how the work comes out right.
But we do not do "that's not my job." There may be times when finishing a project means doing something outside your trade for a bit. That is normal here. We all help each other, we back each other up, and we leave the job complete and the client taken care of.
If you are the carpenter people call when the work has to be right, we should talk.
HOW TO APPLY:
Send us your résumé, or just tell us your story. Let us know what kind of carpentry you are strongest at, what you have built, and what you are looking for in your next company. Photos of your finished work are encouraged, and they carry more weight with us than a résumé does.
